| 8AM Departure from your hotel in Guatemala city and drive off to Antigua, the Colonial Capital of Central America, for a walking guided tour in it’s lovely cobble stone streets, learning about it’s interesting past and history.
Around noon, we head to the Mayan town of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, famous for the hand-woven textiles, for an interesting cultural experience, with a Mayan family, enjoying a traditional lunch of “pepian”, a local recipe of spicy chicken stew.
Right after the informal lunch, tourists will enjoy a presentation about the ancient Mayan textile technique and the importance of this skill for the Mayan women in their daily life. Afterwards, we’ll visit an organic coffee plantation and drive through plantations of corn, with beautiful views of the volcanoes around the valley, and enjoy a freshly roasted cup of coffee before heading back to the city, ending up at your hotel around 6pm. |
